How to use it

NOLGIA Agent asks these questions in a chat, one at a time, with your own material.

  1. What is the machine?

Write it in your own words. Name it and say what it does.

    For example: A film camera

  2. A photo or drawingOptional

Add up to four photos from your device or your Library. Of the real machine, so it stays recognisable. You can skip this.

  3. Where to cut, and which parts to labelOptional

Write it in your own words. Where to slice it open, and which parts get a numbered label with their real names. You can skip this.

For example: Cut down the centre line. Callouts: lens, shutter, film gate, mirror

  4. ColoursOptional

Write it in your own words. Like slate blue, brass and red. You can skip this.

For example: Slate blue, brass and oxide red

  5. Create

One press of Create makes your image and saves it to your Library. The price is on the button, and nothing runs until you press it. It takes under 2 min.

About this preset

Cutaway diagram opens a machine down its centre line and draws what is inside the way a good engineering manual does: a hatched cut face, flat honest colour, precise line weights and thin leader lines out to numbered callouts in the margin. The numbers are deliberate. Words rendered by an image model go wrong, so the diagram ships with numbered discs and you get the label list as text to set yourself, which keeps the spelling exact and the file editable. Bring the object, or a photo of it, and say which parts matter.

Use cases

  • A how it works panel for product documentation
  • A patent or investor deck slide explaining the mechanism
  • A museum or science centre exhibit board
  • A textbook or course figure
  • A service manual page showing the internals

Examples

  • Centrifugal pump and motor sectioned on the centre line, eight numbered callouts

Centrifugal pump and motor sectioned on the centre line, eight numbered callouts

A technical cutaway illustration on a clean warm off white ground, 16:9, drawn in the style of a premium engineering manual. One machine is sliced open down its centre line so the interior reads clearly: the outer shell in flat muted grey with a thin dark keyline, the cut face hatched at forty five degrees, and the mechanism inside picked out in a restrained palette of slate blue, warm brass and oxide red. Eight thin leader lines run out from the interior parts to small filled circles numbered 1 through 8, evenly placed in the margins, and those numerals are the only characters anywhere in the frame. Precise line weights, subtle paper grain, generous margins, no shading gloss, no photography, no words, no lettering, no captions. The machine is unbranded, carrying no logo, wordmark or trademark of any kind. Use only the brand names, logos and trademarks the customer includes in their request; never add real-world brands, logos or trademarked designs the customer did not mention.

  • Single cylinder engine sectioned through the cylinder, eight numbered callouts

Single cylinder engine sectioned through the cylinder, eight numbered callouts

A technical cutaway illustration on a clean warm off white ground, 16:9, drawn in the style of a premium engineering manual. One small single cylinder four stroke engine is shown from a three quarter view with a corner quarter of its casing removed so the interior reads clearly: the outer casing in flat muted grey with a thin dark keyline, the two cut faces hatched at forty five degrees, and the mechanism inside picked out in a restrained palette of slate blue, warm brass and oxide red, the piston, connecting rod, crankshaft, camshaft, valves and cooling fins each in their own flat tone.

  • Mechanical wristwatch sectioned from the side through the winding stem, six numbered callouts

Mechanical wristwatch sectioned from the side through the winding stem, six numbered callouts

A technical cutaway illustration on a clean warm off white ground, 16:9, drawn in the style of a premium engineering manual. One mechanical wristwatch is shown from the side as a stacked assembly, its case sliced on a vertical plane through the winding stem so the layers read clearly from the crystal down: the case and bezel in flat muted grey with a thin dark keyline, the cut face hatched at forty five degrees, and the movement inside picked out in a restrained palette of slate blue, warm brass and oxide red, the dial, hands, mainspring barrel, gear train, escapement, balance wheel and case back each in their own flat tone. Six thin leader lines run out from the interior parts to small filled circles numbered 1 through 6, evenly placed in the margins, and those numerals are the only characters anywhere in the frame. Precise line weights, subtle paper grain, generous margins, no shading gloss, no photography, no words, no lettering, no captions. The dial is plain and unmarked, and the watch is unbranded, carrying no logo, wordmark or trademark of any kind. Use only the brand names, logos and trademarks the customer includes in their request; never add real-world brands, logos or trademarked designs the customer did not mention.
