Seedance 2.5 vs Kling 3.0: four tests on the same inputs

Four tests we ran for our guides put the two models side by side on identical inputs. Neither wins everything, and the split is useful.

Seedance 2.5 or Kling 3.0? On the inputs we tested, Seedance 2.5 follows a detailed prompt more closely and keeps a designed object's shape better, Kling v3 matches it on body movement, and Kling v3 is the one to pick for a 4K master. Both are flagship video models on NOLGIA, on the same credit balance, and both need a Pro plan.

Every clip below is a real render made for an earlier NOLGIA guide or post, where the method is written out in full, and every one links back to it. Nothing was made or rerolled for this page. Kling 3.0 is listed as Kling v3 in the catalog, and that is the model in every test.

One to three runs per model per test, on each model's standard tiers. The sections below link each full method.

Test 1: one prompt, nine measured checks

We sent one bakery storefront prompt to six models, twice each, and scored nine details a tool can confirm: the sign spelled BAKERY, a red bicycle left of the door, three pots right of it, a yellow umbrella, a ginger cat walking left to right, a slow push in, and no people anywhere. The full method, all twelve clips and the raw numbers are in One prompt, six video models, nine measured checks.

Seedance 2.5's first run: a bakery storefront on a cobbled street with a green BAKERY sign, a red bicycle, three pots and a ginger cat, the camera pushing in
Seedance 2.5, run 1: 9 of 9. It also painted window lettering nobody asked for, which changes from frame to frame.
Kling v3's first run: the same bakery storefront, with a figure standing behind the door glass inside the shop
Kling v3, run 1: 8 of 9. A person stands inside the shop, behind the door glass, in every frame checked.

Seedance 2.5 scored 18 of 18; Kling v3 scored 15, the lowest of the six. Both spelled the sign right, painted the bicycle and the umbrella the right colours and walked the cat the right way. The difference was the part of the prompt that says what must not be there, and where things go.

Test 2: a car that has to keep its shape

For a car commercial, we designed one fictional coupe as a still, then gave both models that still as the start frame with the same drive-by prompt: no badges, no lettering, nobody in the car. A drive-by shows sides of the car the still never did, so it is the hardest shot on the design. The whole workflow is in A car commercial with AI.

Seedance 2.5's drive-by: the graphite coupe pulls forward under a ring light and turns out of frame to the right, its nose and light bar unchanged
Seedance 2.5, 480p, 5 seconds. The silhouette, the wheels and the light bar held, with no badge and nobody inside. It turned out of frame instead of crossing it.
Kling v3's drive-by: the same coupe moves under the ring light, with a small mark appearing on the nose and a figure visible in the cabin
Kling v3, 720p, 5 seconds. A badge-like mark appeared on the nose, and a figure sat in the cabin from about 2.8 to 4 seconds.
Seedance 2.5 at 3 seconds: the coupe facing the camera with the same clean nose and light bar as the design stillKling v3 at 3 seconds: the coupe facing the camera with a mark on the nose and a figure behind the windscreenSeedance 2.5Kling v3
The same moment, three seconds in. Drag to compare.

One run each, judged frame by frame at full size. If your shot has a product, a logo or a vehicle that has to stay itself, run this test on your own design before you commit a whole ad to one model.

Test 3: a backflip from one frame

Movement is where the two meet. We gave four models one standing frame of a dancer on a wet rooftop and a prompt written as physics: a crouch, a drive off both feet, one rotation, both feet down together, knees absorbing. Kling v3 and Seedance 2.5 rotated a real flip on every roll. Veo 3.1 Fast missed on three rolls of four. The method and the prompt are in Make AI people move realistically.

Seedance 2.5: the dancer on the wet rooftop loads, flips backward in a high tuck and lands feet first in a squat
Seedance 2.5, 720p. A slow load, a high tucked flip, both feet down at 2.8 seconds, a squat and a hold.
Kling v3: the same dancer and rooftop, a fast drive into a tight flip and a feet-first landing with a splash
Kling v3, 720p. A fast drive, a tight tuck, both feet down together into a deep squat with a splash.

Watch for this:Say where the feet land. Kling v3's first roll flipped and landed on its hands, because the prompt named the knees and not the feet. Adding "lands on both feet" fixed it on the next two rolls. On both models, the loose T-shirt rode up while he was upside down: dress the performer for the move.

Test 4: light, weight and a handheld camera

To make a clip read as filmed, we wrote three lines into one prompt: one named light source, a walk with weight in it, and a camera a person is holding. The same whole prompt ran on both models. The method, with one before and after pair per line, is in Make AI video look real.

Seedance 2.5 at 480p: a man in a camel coat walks toward the camera down a wet alley at night and turns up his collar with his right hand
Seedance 2.5, 480p. The lamp high behind him, a cyan fixture on the right wall, the right hand on the collar as written.
Kling v3 at 720p: the man in the camel coat walks toward a handheld camera through the wet alley, a lamp behind him and a cyan tube on the wall
Kling v3, 720p. The lamp behind him, the cyan tube, heel-first steps and the collar turned up.

Both followed the light and the movement. Both framed him full length where the prompt asked for chest up. The two ran at different tiers, so compare what arrived, not the sharpness.

Read live from the catalog when this page loads. Every price is shown before you generate. See every rate.

Both rates are read live from the price list for a 5 second clip, tier by tier, and a longer clip costs proportionally more. Turning on Kling v3's sound adds to its price, and sending Seedance 2.5 a video of yours costs more than a prompt alone. The Generate button shows the exact price of your settings before you run it.

What these tests do not tell you

  • They are one to three runs per model per test. A model that held twice can miss on the next run.
  • Two of the tests ran the models at different tiers. Compare what arrived, not the detail.
  • Nothing here measures how people come out from shot to shot, and we make no claim about it.
  • None of the tests has dialogue. For a spoken line, read Veo 3.1 on NOLGIA and MiniMax H3 on NOLGIA.
  • Taste is yours: the look, the texture and the sound are for your own eyes and ears, which is why every clip is here.

Questions and answers

Is Seedance 2.5 better than Kling 3.0?
On our tests it followed a detailed prompt more closely and kept a car's design where Kling v3 did not. On a backflip the two were level. Kling v3 is the one for a 4K file. Pick by the shot.
Which one costs less?
It depends on the tier and the length. The rates on this page are read live from the price list when it loads, and the Generate button shows the exact price of your settings before you run.
Can Seedance 2.5 render 4K?
No. It tops out at 1080p. Kling v3 and Seedance 2.0 Pro render real 4K pictures, measured in our 4K post.
Which plan do I need?
Pro and up, for both. Topping up credits does not unlock them on a lower plan.
